There is nothing so intuitive and certain as one's existence.
Even to doubt it, you must be present for the doubt. Therefore, your own being
is beyond doubt. Start right there. The key is to have a clear sense of
this being (your own existence) without identifying it with any
concept. One thing you can verify immediately is that your being is not a
concept. That is why this has nothing to do with concepts, teachings or
doctrines, however glorious. At the level of being itself, there are no
separate appearances. In other words, at the source itself, there is no
"I" or "you", no "this" or "that". These are generated by the conceptual
mind. There is no "my being" and "your being", just being itself.
Keep in mind that "being" is only a pointer, so do not make too much of
that word. Call it anything, but that refers to your own natural
existence, which shines before, during and after any concept or
experience. Nothing is being brought in at all. No special event,
moment, or awakening is implied or necessary. We are simply having a
straight look at something so present that we may have overlooked it,
being more interested in other things.

they miss the message.

There
is a state beyond consciousness, which is not unconscious. It is pure
awareness beyond the subject-object nexus.
